“Enter my Lair” said the dreth to the chorkant

So I’m keeping this blog partially because I like screaming at the wailing wall, putting my thoughts out there were no one will read them! But moreso, a friend of mine, whom you can visit at Eggsaladsandwiches had to make a WordPress blog for an assignment at school, and mentioned how you can do HTML and CSS. As it happens, I am enrolled in a course to learn these things, so this going to be kindof a record to see how my skills improve and grow.

On the topic of screaming to no one, I think I will start with that. Today I saw Sonata Arctica in concert, at the Garrick Center. They were opening for DragonForce, so unfortunately their set was only six songs long, short but sweet:
-Black And White
-Eighth Commandment
-FullMoon
-Don’t Say A Word
-Last Drop Falls
-Flag In The Ground
Oh, I guess its worth mentioning, they closed with ever present We Need Some Vodka! their hilarious take on Have Nagila. But I was so excited to hear Flag In The Ground it is one of my favorites off of their newest album.

Then DragonForce took the stage. I know the popular opinion about them, they are unoriginal, they are bad musicians, all their songs sound exactly the same. I have to say, I respectfully disagree, I love DragonForce because to me all it boils down to is “Are they fun to listen to?” to which I respond with a resounding HELL YEAH, they rolled out a killer set list, tons of classics. Disciples of Babylon, Starfire, Valley of the freaking Damned (The FIRST single they ever put out) and to top it off? Land Where Dragons Rule! The first time I’ve ever heard a band play a bonus track live in concert! Blew me away, the only complaint I have is no Once In A Lifetime.

But what REALLY gets my goat, is my friend Mia, of the aforementioned Eggsaladsandwiches was waiting for a cab home, and WHO happened to be beside her? WHO? None other than Tony Kakko HIMSELF! He signed HER SHIRT, she phoned me afterwords and I SEETHED WITH IMPOTENT RAGE.
